Dr Sumu Simon

Dr. Sumu Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She completed her Masters in Ophthalmology from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. She then worked as an Ophthalmology registrar at RAH, QEH & LMH. She became a Fellow of RANZCO in 2012. She is a general Ophthalmologist, with special interests in Neuro-ophthalmology, adult strabismus, adult squint surgery, medical retina, cataract and glaucoma.

She undertook her Medical Retina Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2012-2013. In 2013-2014 she did a second Fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology, adult strabismus and strabismus surgery from Birmingham, which is one of the leading Neuro-ophthalmology centres in UK.

Dr. Simon is an author of many peer-reviewed research publications and presents regularly at conferences. She is actively involved in teaching and research and is a clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Dr Simon is a consulting Ophthalmologist at the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals. She is the clinical lead for the Neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
